JOHN 17

Bro John Vincent Flores

"Behold, I set before you the way of life and the way of death."

From the moment we wake up in the morning, how do we begin our day?

What do you do after waking up?

Praying?

  • Reading the text on your phone?

What do you do before sleeping?
  • Praying?

  • Putting your phone beside your pillow?

What do you do after receiving a blessing?
  • Praying and thank God?

  • Or texting your friends & telling them that your happy?

King Solomon teaches us important life lessons in Ecclesiastes.

“Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.”

Bro. John gives us a glimpse into some of the realities that are currently affecting our generation.

  • Cellphone is valuable than Bible

  • TV/Laptop is more needed than Praise

  • Money is more important than Prayer

  • Worldly song is more than famous than Praising Song

  • BF/GF is more important than Jesus Christ

  • Hang out is most favorite than ecclesia

What is truly significant in our lives?

Bro. John also provides us the Bible's concept of LIFE.

• James 4v14- like a vapour

• Job14v1-2- like a flower

• Psalms 144v4- like a shadow

• Job 20v7-10- after death, nothing

We are just traveler of this world and our remembrance in this world won’t last forever.

In Romans 6:23,

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in[b] Christ Jesus our Lord.

Since the fall of man, which God created, DEATH has been a part of our lives.

Because of our emotions, we also have FEAR of death in us.

However, as Christians, we are striving for LIFE, which we find in Jesus Christ.

Jesus promised,

“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25)

We all know that even Jesus was not spared from DEATH, as he too experienced it. However, he demonstrated and showed us how to live in order to gain LIFE.

Our victory in Christ also promises that believers will one day taste a glorious resurrection and a glorified body like to Christ's. "It is written," Jesus said.

"I am the resurrection and the life, he that believeth in me though he were dead, yet shall he live."

Let us face the reality of death and what lies beyo

nd, which may cause us to pause and reflect the meaning of LIFE.
