Isaiah 53:6,7
6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him t he iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.
Bro Alex underlined the need of people being aware of their actions at times, especially when it comes to narcissistic viewpoints. Alex presented statistics on the number of persons who died as a result of selfie accidents.
Article from Forbes – Our new ‘Selfie’ Society (August 2015)
In just a few short years our mobile phone driven world has turned world camera-shy and often appropriately modest friends and neighbors into a digitally connected world of on-camera performance creating visual autobiographies in real-time.
Today, we live in what my friend and Quora rock star David S. Rose calls a “Selfie Society.” And he’s so right.
A shot I took during my previous “A shot a day” challenge. It actually got used by websites, blogs, and companies which was nice (and freaked my friends when seeing my face out of nowhere). @antoinebeauvillain
Our Narcissistic View:
People have a strong desire for other people's attention. This is what the online world is attempting to feed those that interact with it. Every time we post, we expect a response, and if we don't get one, we'll be disappointed. These are common occurrences in the online world, yet living a Christian life necessitates ignoring all of these upsetting approaches. We must maintain a clear vision of the kingdom that will be established for individuals who live a Christian life. If we want to be assured of entering God's kingdom, we must always reveal ourselves as pure and fully dedicated to Jesus, and we must serve in a way that is worthy of eternal life.
Jesus' instructions to his disciples
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
Matthew 28:20
Jesus have instructed us a clear commandment.
“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. You are my friends if you do whatever I command you.”
