2 Thessalonians 1

Updated: Aug 3, 2021

Bro Jonifer Natividad

2 Thessalonians 1:3-5: 3 We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters,[b] and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing. 4 Therefore, among God’s churches we boast about your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and trials you are enduring. 5 All this is evidence that God’s judgment is right, and as a result you will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering.

(Stephanos; crown of glory)
"reward, honor, renown, fame" |
A triumphant victory; a splendid achievement.

Those who have persevered in their faith have been rewarded.

What did the Thessalonian Ecclesia accomplish to gain Apostle Paul's trust and gratitude?

Bro Joni has spoken about how our beloved apostle Paul has demonstrated his commitment to spreading the gospel in this location. We've seen powerful characters revealed to us in the Bible in this setting. That we should always show good character as a by-product of endurance, no matter how difficult it is to live in the truth. Apostle Paul is constantly reminding his beloved brethren in Christ to retain their faith, because if they do, they will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God for which they are suffering.

Bro Joni has also mentioned how lively the characters the Thessalonians are. That they always count it all joy whenever they experience adversity, because they trusted that God is constantly looking out for them. They are the type of brethren who are passionate about learning God's words. After the manner, they carefully and clearly listened to the words.

11 With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith.
2 Thessalonians 1:11

We must always continue to put what is plainly written in the Bible, and whenever we hear something different, we must always consult the Bible first. After seeking others, the Thessalonians accomplished this, and the fruit of their labors was consistently illustrated in the Bible.
