God's Gifts:

Updated: Aug 3, 2021

Bro Barry McClure

“Gift” is a word used to describe something that is given, and without any condition.

First: We occasionally acquire gifts that we put aside because they are of little significance or value to us.

Second: The person who gave us the gift could mean a lot to us.

The gifts mentioned in the book of "Numbers" are instructive in terms of "service".

1. To serve God

2. To serve the people of Israel - (a gift of service as a priest)

Question 1: Are the gifts only given to the believers?” (Ecclesiastes 3:12)

“I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.”

Jesus said in the woman of Samaria:

Jesus: “If you want to have the gift of God, you should’ve ask for the living water.”

LIVING WATER – teachings of Christ and the words of God.

Question 2: “How much are the words of Jesus can be very mean to us?”

Keypoints:

1. WORD OF GOD – First Gift (2 Corinthians 9:15)

2. GRACE OF GOD

- Second Gift (many people don’t respond or are not interested to this gift.

- God’s grace is actually within us.

- We have to show graciousness to others or kindness and gratefulness to God.

3. Gift of Righteousness – Romans 5:17

- “Gift of Forgiveness”

- Rom 6:23 “Gift of God is eternal life”

4. Gift of God – (2 Cor 1:9,10)

- Delivered us from so great death

- For Paul: “The gift of God is the answer of our Prayers.”

	Sometimes; our prayers focuses on;
		§ Ourselves
		§ Our needs; and
		§ Our excuses

5. Gift of prayer

6. Gift of suffering

- “How his suffering for the sake of Christ”

- Suffering and enduring is what we need to prepare us for eternity.

7. Gift of Life – (Deut 30)

- Choosing life

- It’s up to us what gift are we going to prioritize.

Remember: Gifts aren't a sort of payment that says, "This is how much I owe you." "They'll give you this if you do this. It's not a form of trade or a bargain."

Rom 11:29 – “For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.”

“What we are is a gift from God. What we become is our gift to God.”
